A huge THANK YOU to the Professional Business Financial Development (PBFD) BOCES Career & Technical Education Program juniors for their incredible generosity! Through a special project in collaboration with United Way of the Southern Tier, students spent four weeks collecting 1,206 hygiene items from our community, which were donated to Ernie Davis Academy. EDA Student Council representatives proudly accepted the donation on behalf of the school, recognizing the impact these essential items will have on students and families in our community. We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and compassion shown by these young leaders. Thank you for demonstrating the power of service, partnership, and giving back! #GoExpress

Here is our schedule for the last week of school. I can't believe we are almost there!

What an amazing week of learning beyond the classroom! Students visited CAF USA to see trains being built. the next day, another group of students spent time at our intermediate schools reading to 3rd graders. We’re so proud to see our students out in the community growing, leading, and showing what it means to be outstanding citizens! Go Express!!

In February, Mrs. Kennedy’s 8th grade English students at Ernie Davis Academy didn’t just study the Holocaust—they connected with it.

As part of their unit, students learned about survivor Dr. Irene Butter (age 95) and were inspired to write her heartfelt letters… and they were deeply received. Her assistant read each one aloud to Dr. Butter and sent photos back to the class.

A powerful reminder: student voices matter—and meaningful learning goes far beyond the classroom. #GoExpress

Phone System Maintenance Notice

The Elmira City School District would like to inform our community of a brief, scheduled maintenance to our regional phone system.

Date: Monday, April 20
Time: Beginning at 4:00 PM
Duration: Approximately 10 minutes

During this time, phone services across the district will be temporarily unavailable.

This maintenance is being completed outside of school hours to minimize any disruption to students, staff, and families. Because this work is coordinated with an external vendor, it must take place during this scheduled time.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete this important update.

Our Council of Champions members were able to visit Elmira College this week and see what college life is all about!
